Emery Mae Vignes

On the morning of Jan 29th, 2014, Colby called trying to sound very nonchalant, "Hi Mom, not to put you on HIGH alert or anything but...Doug thinks I may be in labor!  I've signed on to work from home but we are trying to decide what to do next.  I told Doug he could go ahead to work but to listen out for me, I will call him if I need to."  I'm thinking, "Dear God, please don't let Doug go to work just yet!"  He didn't!!!  They were very wise, Colby decided to sign off work for the day and they would go by their OB/GYN's office.  It was Wed, during office hours.  So when Dr. Saenger examined Colby, she informed them to go on to hospital.  She WAS in labor.

Meanwhile, I was not on "high alert", but...here's what my travel options looked like!

The Dothan, Panama City Beach, Birmingham and Atlanta highways and airports were closed!!!  Children/teachers stuck at school overnight, parents stranded on the highways unable to get to their children or home from work.  What a difference a night makes, God is good, I was able to book a flight out of Dothan thru Atlanta to San Antonio the very next morning.   Praise the Lord.  Cindy took me to the airport, the Atlanta flight was delayed a little, but I arrived in San Antonio, fairly close to on time.  Evie picked me up and took me straight to hospital!  The one little inconvenience, was my luggage arrived on a later flight.  Sweet Debbie and Dwayne left hospital to get us something to eat and picked up my luggage for me.  Blesssings!

Emery was born on January 29, 2014 at 7:02, she weighed 7 pounds 6 ounces and was 20.25 inches long!  Mom and baby doing great.  Proud Daddy and extended family!
